Mind Alive Monday ~ Snowboarding

Snowboarding was great this winter! I managed to hit up Kimberly, Fernie, Lake Louise, Norquay and Pass Powder Keg. The last one was because my mom wouldn't let me drive out to Fernie, but was fine with me walking to the hill :) On my personal blog I talk about snowboarding and how different problems in my riding reflect my thought patterns. This year was different than my past years snowboarding. Generally, I ride alone or with an instructor, but my friends from Australia came into town at Christmas, so we rode in Fernie New Year's day. Then I joined a snowboarding club in Calgary, which was great because I got to meet some new people and we rode a couple times this season.
Usually the only mountain I ride is Lake Louise, because it was free for the last few years, but this year I broke out of the mold and tried out some new hills and rediscovered some of the old ones. I met a few people who were leery of trying snowboarding. I love it, because when I fall everything stays together :) I managed to ride a double black diamond too. I didn't really mean to. I got lost. I didn't think it was all that bad to be honest, but the powder was a lot of fun, especially on a snowboard where you basically float!

Riding in Lake Louise this winter :)
