AVE at the Spa

Waxing is painful, but so is going to the dentist. When we're asked to relax we often tense up, bracing ourselves for what's going to happen next. AVE has shown to effectively relax people during a root canal procedure, which to me seems a  much more stressful situation than waxing.

In the past I've volunteered to be waxed by students, but I have a high pain tolerance and I understand that they are just learning, so my personal discomfort was minimal. After hearing some of their stories about people (that's right men and women) screaming during their waxing, brazilian's being particularly painful, AVE couldn't possibly do any harm. Unless it's a back wax most of the time the client starts face up, which is optimal for AVE usage. With difficult clients the students might benefit from using the AVE  on themselves given that it's successful with post traumatic stress.

I used to lecture at Marvel College in Calgary about what students should look for in cosmetics, so maybe I'll contact them again to see if they'd be open to using AVE.
